Sensata Technologies wins three awards at the Northern Ireland Equality and Diversity Awards.

Local County Antrim technology firm Sensata Technologies had multiple reasons to celebrate, picking up three gongs at the recent Northern Ireland Equality and Diversity Awards which were held at a prestigious ceremony in Titanic Belfast.
The awards, which are in their third year, provide companies with an opportunity to showcase their commitment to advocating equality and diversity in their organisations. Sensata Technologies, which employs over 1,200 staff across its sites in Antrim and Carrick, won awards in three categories; Best Employer for Equality & Diversity in Northern Ireland – large organisation (over 250 staff), Best Race Initiative, and Individual Diversity Champion, which was awarded to Catherine McGinnity from Sensata.
Commenting on the awards, Ivan Bailie, Senior Director of Engineering at Sensata, said;
“As a large local employer, our employee welfare is essential to our business. We are delighted that the efforts undertaken by the Sensata team on diversity, race and inclusion in the workplace are successful and have been recognised, and that Catherine’s focus on diversity was justifiably rewarded too. Our employees working together are the backbone of Sensata, and as a forward-thinking company I am thrilled that our employees’ focus here in Northern Ireland has been recognised and celebrated through these awards. These awards highlight Sensata as an excellent place for people to work and join our ‘One Sensata’ team, working smarter together.”
Winner of Diversity Champion for 2019, Catherine McGinnity added;
“I am honoured and delighted to be named Individual Diversity Champion, especially considering the incredible achievements of the other nominees. I am proud to be part of a company that values all skills, perspectives and contributions and want to thank everyone who is working with me to make Sensata a welcoming and inclusive place to work. Let’s keep it up!”
Organised by Legal Island, the awards are sponsored by Grafton Recruitment and Jones Cassidy Brett solicitors, and supported by Diversity NI.
